All around, the eminence of mankind seeking for eternal state seems to be oblivious. Quest for life, love, fame, power, wealth and what have you underscore man's innate longings for something beautiful. Such quest emanates from man's desire for constancy. This is evident in one's longing for love, affection, belonging, esteem, and self actualization which are of highest value. Yet, deceptions as to the focus of what one quests for may not be remarkable at a shallow scrutiny. But, as the old deceiver has aimed since time immemorial, the subtilty of what appears to be genuine becomes spurious in the light of eternity. Mankind at his lowest point desires to be satisfied in the aspect of biological needs and safety. But these desires take the backstand when mankind is consummated by the ultimate reality which is eternal. And that which is eternal is of course, heavenly. And if heavenly then it points to God. Hence, as believers of the eternal promise, it is fitting to be called Heavenly Country Seekers (Hebrews 11:16) - the Ultimate Reality of being in the presence of God on the basis of the redemptive power of the Lord Jesus Christ who died, was buried and resurrected from death to life - the gospel which is the hope of Heavenly Country Seekers. Hence, the Heavenly Country Seekers quest is the promise of constancy from Jesus who is the same, yesterday and tomorrow. What a guarantee and what a trustworthy thing to rely on the Lord Jesus Christ!
Hebrews 11:16 "But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city."
